Today I look at the oil market and how the WTI crude price dropped to a 20-year low overnight. Decades ago prior to China becoming an economic force low oil prices were a good sign for the markets and the economy but nowadays oil prices act more as a barometer of economic health.
My conclusion is that oil prices have not finished going lower and that the impact of that would be felt very heavily in the financial sector as there has been a great deal of easy money or malinvestment made in the energy sector in the last decade.
