Cosmos Ecosystem Gathers in Latin America as Interchain Innovation Trends Upwards

After hitting over USD 1.4 Billion in TVL earlier this year, Cosmoverse is gathering in Colombia to further grow their global network of developers.

August 2022, Medellin, Colombia – Cosmoverse, the largest Cosmos conference, heads to Medellin, Colombia from September 26-28, 2022. The layer 0 blockchain is redefining what interchain can mean for emerging builders and projects looking for solutions to interconnectivity issues.

The growth of this ecosystem was recently bolstered by the news that established project, decentralized crypto exchange, dYdX, is moving its platform from a Layer 2 Ethereum decentralized application (dApp) onto its own Cosmos-based blockchain.

The popularity of the Cosmos chain with early builders and bigger projects alike comes down to its customizable platform.

As a Layer 0, Cosmos is providing the tools for projects to launch their own customized blockchain, tailored to their needs – specifically the Cosmos SDK. In addition, Cosmos’s Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol (IBC) allows chains in the ecosystem to communicate seamlessly, removing the need for bridges to transfer assets.

This combination provides a powerful toolkit from which projects can build and expand their own ecosystem, without compromising interoperability.

Cosmos is building a name for itself as one of the most diverse ecosystems in crypto, and as of July 2022 was holding 0.82% of the total DeFi total value locked (TVL), It hosts over 200 application-specific Cosmos native dApps that are providing users value without compromising the overall interconnected mission of these communities.

Cosmoverse aims to bring more awareness to Cosmos as an interchain platform, and further integrate itself into the South American crypto community.

Its highlight speakers include Ethan Buchman, Co-Founder of Cosmos.
